On January 9th, 2015, the world’s eight most elite SMITE teams from five regions massed to fight for their chance to become the SMITE World Champions and take home the best part of $2,600,000. An intense three days of competition awaited the players and spectators alike, culminating in a best of five grand final competition on Sunday.
TitanPro would find themselves only dropping one game on their road to the final against who other than Cognitive Prime. While SK Gaming would find themselves playing in the 3rd place consolation match due to a 2-0 defeat finalists TitanPro.Both European Representatives TitanPro and SK Gaming would both find themselves facing off against the North American duo of Cognitive Prime and Cognitive Red.
Cognitive Red then continued their great form throughout the tournament by taking 3rd place, beating SK Gaming 2-0. While TitanPro took Cognitive Prime to game 5, narrowly missing out on the first place prize of $1,306,130.
Over the weekend, it was safe to say that the North American powerhouse, Cognitive Prime deserved their tournament win and prize after only dropping three maps all event.
It was a great showing from both the European representatives with TitanPro claiming 2nd place and a prize of $522,452 while SK Gaming also won their fair share of money for finishing a respectable 4th place ($261,226)
